About Us

Since 1996, INEMI has provided a forum in which our members can leverage their expertise, manpower and influence to identify industry needs and efficiently drive technology development and deployment to enable high-volume manufacturing.

We are a global, industry-led consortium of organizations that represent all segments of the electronics manufacturing value chain. With a combined revenue of over $1 trillion and a workforce of more than two million individuals, our corporate members are a significant cross-section of the industry from around the world. Government agencies and labs, universities and research institutions, and industry associations and consortia round out the membership and, working together, they can provide the critical mass required to affect significant change.

Mission

To be the premier collaboration forum to forecast and accelerate improvements in the electronics manufacturing industry.

INEMI is based in Morrisville, North Carolina, USA (in the Raleigh/Research Triangle Park area) with APAC and EMEA regional support, and is led by an international board of directors with management depth who represent the breadth of the electronics manufacturing industry.

Member Value Pyramid

The foundation of all iNEMI activities — and the value we provide our members — is our roadmaps, industry-wide collaboration on projects, and a forum where members can interact with and build networks within the supply chain.

Roadmaps — provide a 10-year outlook to identify future technology challenges, opportunities and solutions for electronics manufacturing to ensure supply chain readiness and accelerate innovation.

Projects — eliminate technology gaps, set direction for future technology, and drive solutions to reduce cost and complexity.

Network — bring together industry experts to focus on common problems, exchange ideas, create consensus on industry-wide solutions, and build valuable networks.

Opportunities to Get Involved

There are several ways to participate in INEMI and the greater the participation, the more you can get from your membership.

Roadmap

Participation in the INEMI Roadmap is open to industry. Contributors from members as well as non-members help build a view of the future technology landscape. Each topic has a group of contributors responsible for developing the individual technology roadmap topics. If you are interested in contributing to one or more roadmap topic, fill out the expression-of-interest form to let us know where your expertise and interests lay.

Projects

Project participation is for members only, and any member can participate in as many projects as wanted. The number of participants for any given project is not limited. Project teams implement iNEMI projects and, typically, are led by a chair and co-chair. Please be sure to indicate in your profile what technology areas you are interested in so we can let you know when new projects are forming.

Technology Integration Groups (TIGs)

Projects are organized within Technology Integration Groups (TIGs). The TIGs identify technology needs and facilitate formation of projects in key areas. Along with the Technical Committee, they are responsible for developing iNEMI's Technical Plan. TIG participation is typically limited to representatives from iNEMI members. See a list of TIGs.

Technical Committee

The Technical Committee (TC) develops and integrates iNEMI's technology strategies and plans, facilitates and coordinates all iNEMI technical activities. Working with the Technology Integration Groups (TIGs), the TC develops iNEMI's Technical Plan, which outlines the needs and drivers of each collaborative implementation project and conveys the strategy, structure and status of each. This group is comprised of nominated representatives from member organizations in addition to the iNEMI Chief Technical Officer. As deemed necessary, invited technical leaders from non-member organizations may be invited to participate in the TC. If you are interested in the TC or Research Committee (see below), contact Grace O’Malley ([email protected]).

Research Committee

The Research Committee (RC) is a subcommittee of the Technical Committee. Its role is to stimulate research to address gaps identified by iNEMI roadmaps that require fundamental R&D work with government agencies, universities, and other consortia.
